WHAT TO ENTER

Score each side in four simple steps

The scorekeeper follows the same order used on the Canasta101 score sheet and in the complete scoring example.

1

Add Canasta and red-3 bonuses

Enter the combined bonus total. Use a negative number when a red-3 penalty applies.

2

Add going-out points

Choose 100 for going out, 200 total for going out concealed, or zero when the other side ends the hand.

3

Add melded card values

Count the value of every card on that side of the table, including the cards inside completed Canastas.

4

Subtract cards left in hand

Enter their positive value here. The calculator subtracts them from the hand automatically.

5

Save the hand

The hand score is added to the previous running total and stored on this device.

6

Check the next minimum

The scorekeeper shows whether each side needs 15, 50, 90, or 120 points to make its next initial meld.

USEFUL AT THE TABLE

Digital when you want it. Printable when you do not.

The mobile scorekeeper is ideal when the pencil disappears or you want the running totals calculated automatically. If your table prefers paper, the updated printable remains free.

QUICK ANSWERS

Canasta scorekeeper FAQ

Does this Canasta score calculator cost anything?

No. It is free to use, requires no account, and does not ask for an email address.

Will my score disappear if I close the browser?

The current game is stored locally on this device. Use Restore Saved Game when you return. Clearing browser data can remove that saved game.

Does it work for three players?

Yes. Choose three-player mode and score each player independently. See the 3-player Canasta rules for the setup and deal.

How are cards left in hand handled?

Enter the total value of the cards left. The calculator subtracts that amount when it computes the hand score.

Can a Canasta hand score be negative?

Yes. A side can lose points when cards left in hand or a red-3 penalty exceed the positive points earned.

Does this replace the rules?

No. The calculator handles arithmetic. Use the complete Canasta rules whenever a play or scoring category is in question.
